DUES (Deakin University Education Society) was founded for students interested in/studying education, running social and professional development events.
The Deakin University Education Society (DUES) was founded with the vision to assist students DISCOVER the education sector, to UNITE students interested in or studying education and to EMPOWER members with the knowledge and opportunities to help them SUCCEED in their future profession. Running both social and professional development events, DUES is one of Burwood Campus’ newest societies and with already over 100 members in its short existence, it is collaborating with key organisations in Australia’s education sector, such as the Australian Education Union and the Independent Education Union. Endeavouring to assist members throughout their studies and preparing them for their professional futures, DUES works closely with the School of Education’s support staff and faculty to hold several professional development events throughout the year that include guest speakers and short courses.
